There are a number of key issues that will need to be addressed in the weeks and months ahead, and it is important that you have a plan in place that can help to guide you through this critical period.

Rebuilding Your Credit

The following are issues that my clients frequently have questions about following the completion of a bankruptcy:

• Rebuilding your credit: With the majority of your debt being discharged, you will soon be receiving offer for credit cards in the mail. Be selective and don’t overextend yourself.
• Obtaining your credit report: It is important that you monitor your credit report regularly to see that all discharged debts have been removed.
• Disputing items on a credit report: If any discharged items have not been removed, I can help you dispute the items and work to have any errors resolved.
• Changing information on a credit report: Each credit bureau uses unique processes for changing information on your report. If there are any inaccuracies, I can help you take the appropriate steps to correct them.
